What is Inner Healing?
The Lord is my shepherd... he restores my soul. Psalm 23
It is distinct for its emphasis on Christʼs transformative power over mere human insight.
Inner healing is a Christian counseling approach that seeks to restore emotional, spiritual, and psychological wholeness by inviting Jesus Christ, referred to as the Wonderful Counselor, Isaiah 9:6, into the healing process.
Unlike secular counseling, which relies on human wisdom, inner healing focuses on addressing deep-seated wounds, traumas, and emotional pain through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It aims to heal the heart and mind, bringing freedom to those who are ‘brokenheartedʼ or ‘bruised.ʼ Luke 4:18.
The process often involves prayer and revelation. The most essential aspect of this counseling is allowing Godʼs Spirit to reveal and heal hidden hurts, unresolved memories, or spiritual strongholds.
By aligning with biblical principles, inner healing seeks to restore a personʼs relationship with God and themselves, fostering peace, liberty, and spiritual growth.
